While our standard weight stack is labeled to 68 kg / 150 lbs., it contains 136 kg / 300 lbs. of total weight. When using both sides of the functional trainer at the same time, the maximum effective resistance felt by the user is 68 kg / 150 lbs. This 1:2 pulley ratio is ideal for heavy, controlled movements that build muscle and strength, like a chest press or lat pulldown.
1:4 Pulley Ratio
When only using one side of the functional trainer, the maximum effective resistance felt by the user is 34 kg / 75 lbs. One-sided training activates additional integrated pulleys, creating a unique 1:4 pulley ratio. This allows users to perform explosive, athletic movements without causing the weight stack to jump with cable slack. Additionally, the cable travels much farther, ideal for walking lunges and other movements requiring more distance.
